The KLT Factor…10 Tips To Developing The “Know”

Know…Like…Trust.
The KLT Factor can make or break your marketing success both online and offline.
What exactly do know, like and trust mean and how do you develop each of those factors? That’s a great question.
Let start with “Know”.
This is the toughest of the three factors to develop because it has many facets. The first part of “Know” reflects the image or brand that you designate for yourself. Your market will come to know you by this brand whether it is your name, a logo or a particular image that you have created for yourself.
The second part of “Know” involves how to actually get yourself, your product or your service out there in front of potential customers. Your success depends on positioning yourself in front of buyers so they can know who you are then get to really “know who you are”.
The third part of “Know” is the what customers actually need to know about you. Defining the difference between showing customers your best reflection and giving the more information then the need in essential.
Here are 10 Social Marketing Tips To Develop Your “Know” Factor
1. Before you do anything, take a good hard look in the mirror and know what reflection you want others to see.
2. Considering the image or brand you want people to get to know, decide on a user name that you can utilize for all your social marketing efforts. (This can be your name or a title that describes your business)
3. If you are just starting out, write out a profile for yourself. Make sure to include a little about yourself and your product or service. Some general information such as your favorite books, movies, and hobbies can be included.
STOP HERE!
If you have not been honest in steps 1,2 and 3 do not pass go and go start over!
Honesty and integrity on the Internet and in your marketing campaigns are a must. New Media Marketing is about persuasion not deception.
Developing what people know about you so they can come to like you (even just a little) and trust you completely through sincerety will give you much more power when using Persuasion Marketing as a tool.
Creating a lie about you, your product or your service will only result in problems done the road. Your reputation is what will determine your success. Once your reputation is tarnished it is very difficult if not impossible to repair. Treat it with care! Moving on…how are we going to get people to know us?
4. Social Media Marketing! Start opening a few accounts using the same user name and profile for each Social Platform.
5. Twitter is a great place to start. Don’t jump in and tweet too much too quickly! Open your account, make a few comments and watch what others are tweeting about.
6. Facebook another great tool. Open your account and join some like minded groups. Add friends and have fun.
7. My Space is not just for kids! Once you have your account open you can add information about yourself and your business.
8. Linkedin in an excellent business based tool. Your professional profile will give people a way to know more about you and your business.
9. Now that you have some accounts open so customers can get to know who you are, how much do you want them to know about you? The rule of thumb I try to use is: disclose only as much as you would want to know about the other person, no more, no less.
10. Do not confuse honesty and privacy. Being honest and sincere when you market yourself does not mean that you have to violate your own privacy. There is definitely a line of “more information than you need to know” that can be crossed and will lose you business and credibility.
So there you have it. These 10 Social Marketing Tips will get you started developing who you want people to know and where they can get to know you.
This is just the tip of the iceberg!
We’ll break down some of these tips and Social Media Marketing Platforms in later posts.
