Adrianne-

Thanks for the comment! My last car guy was definitely not an my "LIKE" list but man, he knew his stuff and gave me the best deal out of all the Honda guys we met!

LIKE can be developed once KNOW, (respect)and TRUST are present! Tomorrow I will be tying Trust into the K.L.T Factor equation.

See you then!

I think the "LIKE" factor can be a critical component to the success of your business - depending on what you do.

Sure, you might buy a car from someone you like, but professional services are different. If you had to have that car salesman in your office once a week, you might look for another car salesman that you like better.

For example, would you hire someone you don't like to be your nanny? To be your trusted marketing consultant? To be your accountant? I think the LIKE factor is largely dependent on the amount of interaction required. And like you said LIKING someone isn't enough.

You have to TRUST that they are compentent in what they do as well. Haven't we all had a friend that we "hired" to do a job (in my case it was a remodeling job) and they totally flaked or did a terrible job? That's why I think the KNOW, LIKE and TRUST are the trinity of relationship marketing - online or offline. You have to have all three!

Nice guys and gals can finish first!
